AGM
AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries are sealed, maintenance-free lead acid batteries designed for starting and deep cycle performance. As a type of SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) battery, these spill-proof batteries use fiberglass mats to absorb the electrolyte. This makes them vibration-resistant, non-gassing and safe for indoor use.
These batteries are commonly used in automotive, motorcycle, marine, RV, commercial equipment and small backup systems such as UPS units and alarms.
Are SLA batteries the same as AGM?
Most SLA batteries are AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries. SLA refers to the sealed design while AGM describes the internal construction.
Is an AGM battery a VRLA battery?
Yes it is. There are two main types of VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) batteries – AGM and Gel.
